What you’ll accomplish

  • Enable COD for customer checkout.
  • Set the delivery amount accurately.
  • Review customer-facing payment and policy information.
  • Test checkout without relying on online payment.

Enable COD

  1. 1

Open Settings from the selected store.

Find the customer payment methods section.

  2. 2

    Enable Cash on Delivery (COD).

Keep at least one payment method available before expecting customers to finish checkout.

  3. 3

Enter the delivery fee shown by the current settings form.

The saved fee is included in new order totals. Existing orders keep their original delivery amount.

  4. 4

Review contact details and store policies.

Customers need clear delivery, cancellation, return, and contact information that matches how the business actually operates.

  5. 5

    Save Settings.

Wait for the success state before leaving the page.

  6. 6

Open the storefront and review checkout.

Add a product to the cart and confirm that Cash on Delivery and the delivery fee appear correctly.

Handle COD orders

A COD order appears with the order status Ordered — COD and a COD payment state. Confirm the details with the customer, prepare fulfilment, and mark the final delivery status only when it matches the real order.

Vacto can help produce order and invoice messages for WhatsApp. The store remains responsible for the accuracy of delivery windows, fees, remaining payment, and notes sent to the customer.

If the result is not what you expected

  • If COD is missing, confirm Settings saved successfully and at least one active product can be added to the cart.
  • If the delivery fee is wrong on a new order, check the current store settings; an old order will not be recalculated.
  • If checkout is unavailable, check the subscription and storefront state before changing COD again.
