Choose the inventory mode
- Simple stock: track one quantity for the entire product.
- Product variants: track separate combinations such as Black / M or 128 GB / Blue.
- Do not track stock: customers can order while the product is active, without a quantity limit in Vacto.
Build variants
- 1
Save the base product first.
The variant manager appears only after the product exists.
- 2
Change Inventory to Product variants.
Set the product-level low-stock threshold and decide whether backorders are allowed.
- 3
Choose + Add option.
Name the option Size, Color, Material, or another customer-facing label.
- 4
Add the option values.
For example, add S, M, and L to Size, then Black and White to Color.
- 5
Choose Generate variants.
Vacto creates every combination from the option values and preserves saved data for combinations that still exist.
- 6
Review every row.
Set SKU, price override, old/compare-at price, stock, low-stock threshold, image, and Active as needed.
- 7
Use bulk price or bulk stock only when every row should match.
Review the resulting rows before saving; bulk actions replace the draft values for all combinations.
- 8
Save variants.
Save is blocked while a variant image is still uploading.
Adjust stock safely
For simple stock, open the saved product and use Adjust stock with Increase by, Decrease by, or Set to. Choose a reason such as New stock received, Manual correction, Damaged/lost item, Returned item, or Other. Inventory adjustments are retained as history.
Orders reserve tracked stock when they are created. Cancelling an open or paid order restores the reserved quantity once. Cancelling an already delivered order does not restore stock. Reopening a cancelled order reserves the quantity again.
